1. Red Bull Racing : No surprises here, Sebastian Vettel has a contract till 2012 and Mark Webber has a contract till the end of this year. But it remains to be seen if Webber would continue beyond 2011. It probably depends on whether he wins the championship this year or beats Vettel in standings
2. McLaren-Mercedes : Both Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton are contracted till the end of 2012. This pair should continue for this year and the next
3. Ferrari: Fernando Alonso initially signed a three year contract with Ferrari. This means that Alonso will continue atleast till the end of next year. Felipe Massa however has a contract only for this year. Will Massa will drive for Ferrari this year, he would need to put in a few stellar drives to keep his place at Ferrari. Ferrari president - Luca di Montezemolo was critical of Massa's performances last year and was open about trying to get Vettel to drive for Ferrari sometime. While we might not see Vettel in a red car next year, Ferrari have been known to sign world championship winning drivers for their team ala Schumacher, Raikkonen, Alonso.
4. Mercedes GP : Both Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher seem to have contracts till the end of 2012. While Rosberg should see his contract through, the question remains whether Schumacher will continue for next year. The seven time former world champion remains committed in his quest for an eight title and has always maintained his commitment for Mercedes GP for three years. So in all eventuality we should see both Rosberg and Schumacher drive till the end of 2012
5. Lotus - Renault : At the start of 2010 Robert Kubica and Vitaly Petrov had a single year contract with Renault. But by the end of the year both their contracts have been extended by two more years. This pair should continue till the end of 2012. Kubica had put in a few exceptional performances in the Renault last year and Petrov improved as the season approached the end. Also Petrov is a good channel for Renault and Lotus in the Russian market
6. Williams F1 : For this year the drivers are Rubens Barrichello and Pastor Maldonado. Maldonado will be taking over the race seat from Nico Hulkenberg. However their contracts are probably for only this year which could mean a few openings for next year.
7. Force India : Adrian Sutil is most likely confirmed for 2011, although there hasn't yet been an offical confirmation from the team. With Paul di Resta hoping to make it to the 2011 grid, it does seem that Liuzzi's seat is in doubt, although its rumours at the moment. Another possible surprise for a Force India seat could be Karun Chandhok. Although far fetched with the 2011 schedule including an Indian GP, it is a possibility
8. Toro Rosso : Both Jamie Alguersuari and Sebastien Buemi were confirmed to drive for 2011 some time back. However with Daniel Ricciardo as the third driver and also performing first free practice duties, comparisons are bound to happen. One should note that Ricciardo although considered fast, is still a rookie. But both Alguersuari and Buemi should stay away from costly mistakes. Toro Rosso have been known to be replace drivers mid season due to lack of performances. Scott Speed was replaced after the 2007 European Grand Prix by Sebastian Vettel and Sebastian Bourdais was replaced by Alguersuari midway during the 2009 season
9. Sauber : Sauber continues with Kamui Kobayashi from last year for 2011. Kobayashi impressed many in some of the mid season races. He will be joined by Sergio Perez. Perez is a Mexican driver and is the runner up in the 2010 GP2 season.
10. Team Lotus : Both Heikku Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli would be continuing for Team Lotus in 2011
11. Virgin Racing: Timo Glock and Jerome D'ambrosio would be racing for Virgin in 2011.
12. Hispania Racing: HRT is the team with the most seats up for grabs. Their initial drivers from 2010, Karun Chandhok and Bruno Senna are unlikely to remain with team. Although there is no news about retaining Christinan Klien or Sakon Yamamoto, the race seats are most likely going to depend on the driver's sponsorship. UPDATE: Narain Karthikeyan announced that he will be racing for HRT in 2011
